Bill 44 - Strata Rental Restrictions Removed

The most significant amendment that comes with Bill 44 is the BLANKET removal of rental restrictions in ALL strata corporations/buildings in the PROVINCE of British Columbia.

This MEANS, whatever strata property/home you purchase next, you are able to rent it out for a period longer than 30 days (because 30 days is considered short-term rentals such as Airbnb type of rentals), which many strata corporations/buildings still have bylaws limiting such activity, which I think is quite fair. This also means, this amendment from Bill 44 OVERRIDES all existing strata corporation/building bylaws which put limits on minimal rental periods (some used to limit it to minimum 3 months, some 6 months, etc.).
